Join us for the Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association (NEOSWA) Spring Tour of Wallowa High School Forestry Program and visit the Heartwood Biomass in Wallowa, Oregon.
Tour attendees will get to:
See how Wallowa High School students manage a local forest and explore the full forestry value chain, including a mobile sawmill demo.
Learn how Heartwood Biomass takes local wood and turn it into products like firewood, biochar, forest straw, posts, and poles, and more.
Get an update on the new OSU Lumber Grading Program and training coming Fall 2026 in La Grande.
Attendance is free but registration is encouraged. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Tour will be held outdoors, rain or shine, and will require moderate walking/hiking; please dress accordingly.
